The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service, AKIRS, has received four new operational vehicles to support her revenue generation drive.
The vehicles were donated to AKIRS by Myke Etefia and Co., a firm of Chartered Accountants and tax consultants.
Receiving the vehicles at a brief ceremony at revenue house, banking layout, Uyo, on the 17th of March 2021, the Executive Chairman of AKIRS, Mr. Okon Okon, said the agency is committed to generating enough revenue for the government to achieve timely completion of ongoing projects aimed to add value to the overall well-being of Akwa Ibom people.

Okon noted with excitement that the firm has demonstrated faith in the vision of the AKIRS and the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel by the donation of the vehicles. “We will do our best to ensure that the completion agenda of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel is sufficiently funded. This is an onerous responsibility and we need partners to support us in achieving the target set before it in 2021.”

He also stated that Myke Etefia and Co have made history; this is the first time in the history of AKIRS that we see such an act of philanthropy. “This is the first time we have seen a firm as such take a step of faith. He has not collected a dime, yet he has sown a seed as a Christian and also as an indigene of Akwa Ibom State who considers nothing too much to contribute towards the development of the State.”
“The firm has provided these vehicles to help us cover the basics in terms of collection of land-related revenues, we thank them for this gesture”, Okon said.
Earlier, the Managing Partner of Myke Etefia and Co., Mr. Mike Etefia thanked AKIRS for allowing them to contribute to the IGR growth of the State.
