AKIRS Enhances Capacity For Revenue Collection

Akwa Ibom State Board of Internal Revenue has increased its work capacity to generate more Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

This was stated today by the Executive Chairman, Mr Okon Okon while commissioning a new set of vehicles comprising 7 mini buses and 18 motor cycles for effective monitoring and collection of revenue across the three Zonal Areas namely: Uyo zone, Eket zone and Ikot Ekpene zone of the State.

The Chairman in his remark at the occasion thanked His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel for energizing the service for improved performance.

He also stated that under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Udom Emmanuel, the IGR of the State has witnessed tremendous and steady growth arising from the autonomy granted the Service and the subsequent transformation agenda launched by the Board since January this year.

Furthermore, the Revenue Boss has stated that the Head Office Annex of AKIRS is set to relocate to the Nigerian Stock Exchange House in the Central Business District at Udo Udoma Avenue to provide a more conducive business environment.

The commissioning of the vehicles which took place at the Udo Udoma Head Office annex was attended by all the Board members, top Management and a cross section of staff.
